Commemorating the 102nd anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment in the light of new restrictions on women’s autonomy over their bodies provides a unique opportunity to consider some important questions from an historical perspective.  What have been the advantages and limitations of political rights for women? What lessons from the fight to gain suffrage apply to the current moment?
