Dr. Kasper will be discussing the hyena and other wild animals in Nosferatu, which is a silent film adaptation of Dracula. He will analyze how the hyena is used to simplify the plot from the novel as well as become a symbol of various fears that vampires tend to represent, most prominently ecophobia, or fear/loathing of the natural world.
