In recognition of Open Data Day, teams will have 24 hours to compete to create an app relating to the theme of the hackathon. Prizes will be awarded to the teams that come in first, second, and third place.

The maximum amount of members in a team is four (4).

Students from a variety of experience levels and majors are encouraged to attend! We especially encourage students from non-STEM fields to participate. Ideal teams consist of people with disparate skills, like design knowledge, content knowledge (e.g., kinesthetics, transportation, or immigration), or coding skills.

2020 theme

The theme for 2020 is “Movement.” How do people move? What affects how, when, and where people move? How can apps make this information accessible for the public good?

Possible topics to explore include migration, disability, economics, and climate–but your topic can be anything as long as it relates to the theme of “movement.”
