Latino Maverick Welcome

A UTA welcome back festivity for the UTA Latino community. An opportunity to enjoy free food, music, salsa lessons, and giveaways. Bilingual (English and Spanish) information sessions from Financial Aid, Parent and Family Services, and The Center for Mexican American Studies will be present. Hispanic organizations from UTA will also be there to welcome you back to campus.

A bus shuttle is available from 4:30 to 5:45 pm to transport students and their families to the Swift Center. Pick up location is outside the UC Starbucks.


  • 5 to 5:30 pm Check-in in the Swift Center Lobby. The first 40 families will receive a one-year membership to the Perot Museum.
  • 5 to 5:45 pm Mariachi los Jinetes
  • 5:30 pm Welcome
  • 5:50 pm Financial Aid Session
  • 6:15 pm Parent & Family Center provides an overview of all the resources available to our Maverick Families.
  • 6:30 pm SALSA LESSONS & more

Note: If the weather is nice, we will have the event outside and inside the Swift Center. If inclement weather arises, all of our activities will be indoor. Stay tuned on this site or to our social media pages if the event is canceled due to Texas stormy weather.
