As part of the 2022 Season of Festival of Ideas, CoLA is proud to introduce Roshan Mashal, a Texas International Education Consortium fellow here at UTA. Mashal is a well known defender of women's rights in her home country of Afghanistan. 

She was a leader in the Afghan Women's Network and narrowly escaped after Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in August 2021. 

Mashal will speak on  “Women’s Rights and Advocacy Around the Globe” and participate in a Q&A after the talk.

The event is free and open to the public.
