Mt. Fuji in 1806?! Chinese and Japanese astrology in 1719?! New Japanese maps in Special Collections offer both - and more!
UTA Special Collections is excited to announce the acquisition of several Japanese maps from the 18th and 19th Centuries. These maps are a vital addition to UTA's Virginia Garrett Cartographic History Library, and they help document the pivotal contributions of Japanese mapmakers in the history of Cartography.
On Tuesday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., these maps will be on display in Special Collections for all to see!
There will also be a drawing to give away a poster print of one of the maps!
