The UTA Homerathon (an oral recitation of Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey) will take place on Thursday, April 27th, from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm on the University Center Mall.  The event is free and open to both the university community and the general public.  Readers/performers are needed, and those wishing to participate may sign up on-line at

Texts in English translation will be provided, and will be available prior to the Homerathon in the office of the Philosophy and Humanities Department, 305 Carlisle Hall. Recitation in Greek and other arcane languages is encouraged for those who dare! Also, for the fashionistas among you, Homerathon T-shirts in a stunning array of sizes and colors will be on sale during the event (as will no less fashionable Homerathon coffee mugs).
