"Free Our People": A Conversation with Disability Rights Leaders Bob Kafka & Stephanie Thomas of ADAPT

ADAPT/ADAPT of Texas organizers Bob Kafka and Stephanie Thomas started ADAPT of Texas in 1984 and bring almost seventy years combined of advocacy and training in disability rights and services.  They helped design and implement ADAPT’s We Will Ride and Free Our People campaigns as well as the 2017 Senate sit-ins to preserve the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid.  They also co-direct the Institute for Disability Access.

Co-sponsored by the Disability Studies Minor, Pre-Law Center, School of Social Work, Diversity Studies, UTA Libraries, and the Office for Students with Disabilities. Light refreshments will be available.
