The UT Arlington Faculty Senate invites all UTA faculty members to attend an Open Faculty Forum to be held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, November 4, noon to 2 PM.

Interim President Teik Lim and Interim Provost Pranesh Aswath have been invited and are expected to attend.

The forum provides an opportunity for the faculty and administration to freely discuss plans, ideas, and concerns regarding the quality and directions of UT Arlington academic programs, and a chance for faculty to follow up on ideas raised in the Interim President’s “State of the University” address held the week before.

The forum will place emphasis on, but not be limited to, matters that directly, or indirectly, bear on faculty morale, retention, and productivity. The Senate is particularly interested in discussions of impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on UT Arlington finances, students, and employees; Tier-1 status and the planned use of Tier-1 funds; status of searches for a Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; recognition of the faculty; and shared governance.

Bring your questions! You will be able to post your questions in the chat or raise your virtual hand to ask your questions using your microphone. You can also email your questions ahead of time to Dr. Bill Carroll, Chair of Faculty Senate (carroll@uta.edu) or to your unit’s faculty senator (see http://www.uta.edu/senate/new/members_list.pdf for the roster).
