DESCRIPTION:This year the Department of Sociology and Anthropology welcomed
a new colleague\, Steven Arxer\, as part of the Community-Engaged Research
Cluster. Dr. Arxer is a professor of Sociology and comes to us from UNT-Da
llas. Please join the Center for Theory for Arxer’s colloquium on Oct. 30 a
 t 12 p.m. in University Hall 432. Arxer’s presentation is entitled “Develop
ing Veteran-Defined Services within Learning Health Systems.”\n\nThis study
utilizes a Learning Health System (LHS) framework to develop veteran-defin
ed reentry services for post-incarcerated veterans. Veterans’ involvement a
s co-researchers provides insights into their unique experiences\, helping
to conceptualize more responsive and culturally relevant interventions. The
se preliminary findings highlight the potential of an LHS model to continuo
usly adapt and refine programs based on veterans’ lived experiences\, bridg
ing existing gaps in veteran support services.
