The Center for Mexican American Studies, TCI-Hispanic Serving Institution at UTA,  Economic Development through Guidance Education Program (EDGE) , fraternities and sororities, and UTA's Career and Development Center are proud to present "Cultivando Carreras: Mavs Professional Development" on Thursday, Oct. 19, from noon to 5:30 p.m. 

Students are invited to attend this activity-filled day. Those inerested can attend all the events or select a few that they can fit into their schedules.

The invitation deadline is Monday, Oct. 16 at 11:59 p.m.  Click the link below to register. Those registered will have a free lunch provided, plus opportunities for door prizes. Seating at the event will be limited.

The events planned for Thursday, Oct. 19 include:

  • Noon to 2 p.m- Check-In at the Carlisle Suite, second floor of UC.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.- During a working lunch discussion, four panelists will share their field expertise. Lunch will be provided. 

  • 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.- Networking with one another

  • 2 p.m.-  Overview and Introductions by Dr. Xavier Medina Vidal, Director of CMAS

  • 2:10 p.m.-  "Through the eyes of a recruiter" by  Hannah Farrow, UTA Talent Culture and Inclusion

  • 3 p.m.-  Workshops: Resume 101| Graduate Resumes | Professional Communication

  • 3:45 p.m.-   Workshops: Resume 101| How to Network | Transferable Skills

  • 4:35 p.m. - Networking opportunity | Profesional Communication

  • 5 p.m.-  Arlington City Councilman and UTA Alumnus Raúl Gonzales

In addition to this, mock interviews will be conducted by the Latino Business Group of Arlington from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
