Camp John Marc is a camp for children and teens with chronic illnesses and physical challenges located in Meridian, which is just 45 minutes north of Waco. As a medical camp, leaders partner with the Dallas/Fort Worth Pediatric Hospitals (Children’s Health, Cook Children’s, and Scottish Rite for Children) to offer year-round programs to children, teens, and families that have been impacted by a chronic illness. From a diagnosis of cancer to muscular dystrophy, the dignity of each camper is nurtured while at camp. The camp's mission is to inspire confidence for life in all that come through the gates, and summer staff members are key in accomplishing this mission by facilitating traditional summer camp activities that those populations are often excluded from.
